This Stay at a Glance

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa is an adobe-style resort located in the Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. Unlike typical urban Hyatt Regency properties, this resort features a sprawling layout with guest rooms and facilities spread across a large site. The expansive mountain views and quiet atmosphere provided a relaxing getaway distinct from city hotels. During my visit, due to the off-season, only some of the three pools were operational and the breakfast buffet was not available; however, this allowed for a more peaceful and undisturbed resort experience. The unique, serene atmosphere, shaped by its location within the Santa Ana Pueblo, was particularly memorable.

Room Upgrade Experience

Room on this stay1 King Bed Mountain View

I did not receive a suite upgrade as all suites were occupied during my Sunday stay. Instead, I stayed in a 1 King Bed Mountain View room, which felt relatively spacious. The room featured a terrace with a mountain view, perfect for enjoying the dry, serene New Mexico landscape day and night.

Breakfast Experience

Globalist breakfast is served at Santa Ana Cafe. While it usually operates as a buffet, it was served via an a la carte menu in the buffet area during my visit. The portions were generous enough to skip lunch, and the menu variety was decent. However, the repetition of chili, nachos, and omelet-based dishes might feel monotonous for long-term stays. Overall, the food was excellent, and the local-style fried chili was particularly memorable.

Pools & Facilities Experience

There are three pools, including an adults-only pool, and a water slide. During my off-season visit, only the main pool with the water slide was open, and the slide itself was only available for limited hours during weekend afternoons.

Globalist guests have access to the sauna facilities within the spa. The Finnish dry sauna, eucalyptus-scented steam sauna, and hot tub were very well-maintained and were the most satisfying part of my stay.

There are well-maintained walking trails around the resort, and bicycle rentals are available.

Service Impressions

Service notesPoorWhat stood out about serviceGlobalist recognition, Warm lounge staff

While the staff were generally friendly, the inconsistency in information regarding facilities was disappointing. Specifically, explanations regarding golf facility access varied by staff member, and there were discrepancies between the benefits listed as included in the resort fee and the actual on-site operations.

Resort Fee & Parking Check

Parking typeOutdoor parking, Valet parkingComplimentary parking on this stayValet parking fee$20Resort fee$40Other fees

Valet parking is complimentary for Globalists. I was informed that the resort fee includes a $10 outdoor self-parking charge, but it is worth double-checking the actual application of this at check-in.

Other fees: The resort fee is stated to include access to the putting green at Twin Warriors Golf Club, but the benefit was not clearly recognized at the golf club itself. If you plan to use these facilities, be sure to re-confirm the details at check-in.

Late checkout was honored on this stay: 4 PM

Before You Book

During the off-season, operating hours for some pools and water slides may be limited. The resort grounds are expansive, so depending on your room location, the walk to certain areas can feel quite long.
