Located in the heart of Jeju City, this large-scale hotel offers easy access to the airport and major local attractions. I was pleased with the lounge service and the Globalist benefits provided. The breakfast and lounge menus were varied, and the service remained consistent throughout my stay. Because the lounge welcomes children during happy hour, the atmosphere feels relatively relaxed for families.
Closely spaced vertical metal panels cover the facade and glow under the lights, with the Grand Hyatt logo set in the center. At night the whole building reads like a single light fixture.Several tall Christmas trees with gold ornaments stand in the lobby, with the check-in counters behind. The ceiling is so high that even big trees do not make the space feel crowded.The giant dol hareubang in the center of the lobby is covered in flowers, lit by round ornaments hanging from the ceiling. It is the first thing you notice walking in to check in.The bar has geometric lights hanging from a high ceiling and a window wall open to the Jeju sky. With a Christmas tree in one corner, it was a pleasant place to linger over an evening drink.A wide lobby where the hanging light ornaments and Christmas trees reflect off the marble floor. The check-in line was long, so it is worth asking first whether there is a Globalist lane.
Room Upgrade Experience

We were upgraded to a One-Bedroom Suite, which offered a spacious layout in both the living area and bathroom. The 1.5-bath configuration, including a guest powder room, was convenient for our family, and we enjoyed views of Jeju City from both the living room and the bedroom.
The One-Bedroom Suite living room takes in the whole Jeju City skyline through floor-to-ceiling glass. A six-seat dining table left plenty of room for room service or working on a laptop.The One-Bedroom Suite bedroom has a leather bench at the foot of the king bed and a separate vanity with a round mirror and lights. One of us could get ready while the other slept in.The bathroom pairs marble walls and floors with a double vanity under round LED mirrors and a glass-walled shower. Two sinks meant no waiting for a turn in the morning.The dressing room has dark built-in wardrobes on both sides, and a sliding door opens straight into the marble bathroom. Even with a suitcase open there was still room to walk, which made unpacking easy.
The lounge was well-maintained and the staff were attentive. Beyond tea, coffee, cookies, and nuts, the lounge offered Jeju tangerines, beer, and wine throughout the day, making it a convenient spot for a quick refreshment.
The happy hour spread featured local Jeju specialties and was substantial enough to serve as a light dinner. There was a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, and the lounge maintained a relaxed atmosphere that was welcoming to families.
A large nutcracker stands on the lounge's central round table with desserts and pastries arranged around it. The window wall looks down over Jeju City, making it a nice spot for afternoon tea.Through the lounge windows you see the buildings of Jeju City and the blue sea in the distance. The beige armchairs by the window fill up fast in the afternoon, so you have to arrive early to get one.Tavalon tea tins, a French press and sugar sticks are set out on a wooden tray in the lounge. Choosing your own tea and brewing it yourself, without asking staff, worked nicely.Tables sit neatly under rectangular lights suspended from the lounge ceiling, with Jeju City and the sea spread out beyond the windows. By day, natural light alone kept the room bright.At dusk the Jeju cityscape turns red beyond the lounge's glass wall. We sat at a table under the square lights and watched the sunset over a slow evening.Plates of seafood scallion pancake sit on the lounge buffet's warming showcase, with a sign in front listing the dish name and allergens. Pancakes as a lounge snack felt very Jeju.The evening cocktail hour table offers two kinds of sliced ham with olives, pickled vegetables and cheese in small bowls, with a wine fridge behind. Just the right spread to go with a glass of wine.Red bauble ornaments and a cylindrical object sit beside plates of mandarins, melon and watermelon on the lounge buffet table. Jeju mandarins were in season and disappeared first.Nachos and potato chips fill wooden bowls at the lounge snack corner, with a large nutcracker and jars of snacks behind. A good spread for grazing between meals.
Breakfast Experience
Breakfast offered a mix of continental and Korean options. There was a solid variety of hot and cold dishes, and the Korean section featured rice, soup, and a selection of side dishes.
Almond croissants, fruit-topped pastries and round rolls are laid out by tray at the breakfast bakery corner. The almond croissant had such a crisp shell that I went back for seconds.Omelet and roasted vegetables alongside kimchi, seasoned greens, grilled fish and a hot soup, all on one tray. Being able to mix Western and Korean dishes on a single plate was the strength of this breakfast.An all-Korean breakfast: porridge, grilled fish, bulgogi, radish kimchi and seasoned greens, plus a fried egg and freshly made noodles. The gentle dishes suited a tired morning mid-trip.Portioned jams and butter line a wooden tray at the breakfast bakery corner, with sliced bread and a toaster beside them. With several jam varieties, even plain toast became a choice.Two white bowls in the breakfast showcase hold peeled gold kiwi and sliced grapefruit and orange, with tongs in front. The fruit was kept cold, which made it refreshing first thing in the morning.Seasoned spinach, stir-fried anchovies and cabbage kimchi sit on the marble breakfast counter, with a chef cooking in the open kitchen behind. The side dishes were refilled often, so they were always fresh.The janchi-guksu station sets out scallions, seaweed flakes and egg-strip toppings in ceramic bowls alongside soy sauce. You add the toppings yourself, so each bowl comes out the way you like it.Petal-textured glass bowls at the salad corner hold arugula and other green leaves, each with its own tongs. The leaves stayed crisp rather than wilted, so I took a plate every morning.The soup station lines up bowls of chopped scallions, shredded egg strips and seaweed flakes, with hot broth and empty bowls beside them. Piling on the toppings made the broth taste even better.Smoked salmon sits on the top plate of the cold showcase, with two kinds of sliced ham on the marble shelf below, each with tongs. The salmon was cut thick, perfect for piling on bread.

Other facilities include a well-equipped fitness center and a game room with various arcade machines.
The autumn sky and clouds reflect on the outdoor infinity pool, with the Jeju sea running to the horizon beyond. The water was cold for the season, so many people just dipped their feet and enjoyed the view.Black Technogym strength machines are spaced evenly through the fitness center, and several guests were working out even in the morning. There was enough equipment to follow my usual routine.The indoor pool has green-tinted water, dome-shaped cabanas and loungers under a high, indirectly lit ceiling, with a lifeguard on duty. In autumn we used this pool rather than the outdoor one.The hot tub beside the indoor pool showed 37.3 degrees Celsius on its wall thermometer. In autumn, when the pool runs cool, warming up here before heading out became the natural routine.The hotel arcade lines up Mario Kart, Initial D and Jurassic Park shooting machines along with a foosball table. Just the right distance from the room for a quick evening break.

The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from Jeju International Airport. A complimentary shuttle bus runs between the airport and the hotel, making transit easy.
Beyond the lime-green neon sign at the entrance to Cafe 8, bar tables and pendant lights come into view. A good place to drop in for a late-night drink or a light bite without leaving the hotel.A giant red M sculpture stands in the hotel's shopping mall, with red and black heart ornaments hanging thick from the ceiling. A good area to wander on a rainy day without leaving the hotel.Life-size brown and yellow teddy bears flank the entrance to the JoAnne Teddy Bear shop in the mall area. With the black-and-white checkered floor and lattice ceiling, many people stopped for photos.
