Disneyland Park

With its proximity to Disneyland and an on-site paid shuttle, this hotel serves as a convenient hub for families, offering reliable facilities and spacious rooms.
Hyatt Regency Orange County is a large-scale convention hotel in Garden Grove, California. Its proximity to Disneyland makes it a practical base camp for families. The property features two towers—North and South—offering the polished exterior and scale expected of a major urban hotel, with a level of service and facilities more consistent than smaller accommodations in the immediate Disneyland area.
As a Globalist, I was upgraded to a One-Bedroom King Suite, which provided plenty of room. Given that area hotel rates spike during peak seasons, using points and leveraging elite status for a suite upgrade proved to be a highly efficient strategy. For a trip centered on theme park visits, the extra space and convenient amenities were key to making the stay comfortable after long, tiring days.
As a Globalist benefit, we were upgraded to a One-Bedroom King Suite in the North Tower. The layout is unique, with the bedroom near the entrance and the living area further inside. The living room includes a gray fabric sofa, a coffee table, and a TV console by the window, which overlooks the Garden Grove cityscape. A microwave is conveniently built into the desk base, perfect for preparing simple meals.
Overall, the room design prioritizes family practicality over a flashy aesthetic. The living area can function as a second bedroom via the sofa bed, making it well-suited for families. The bedding and mattress provide the reliable comfort expected from the Hyatt Regency brand. While the layout may feel unconventional for couples, the spacious floor plan is a clear advantage.
Breakfast is served at the hotel's TusCA restaurant, with a choice between the buffet or an a la carte menu. The buffet is neatly arranged with fresh fruit on ice, yogurt, a variety of pastries and muffins, and hot items. I ordered the Mexican-style Huevos Rancheros from the a la carte menu; it was flavorful, featuring avocado, eggs, and salsa served over a black tortilla.
The restaurant has a calm, modern atmosphere with high ceilings and transparent spherical light fixtures. As a Globalist benefit, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at no extra cost—the perfect way to recharge before heading to Disneyland.
There are two heated outdoor pools and a whirlpool spa, suitable for relaxing after a long day at the theme park or for children to enjoy some water play.
The hotel features tennis and basketball courts, providing enough space for families to stay active without leaving the property.
In the evenings, a fire pit is available on the third floor of the South Tower. It hosts small activities for children, such as roasting marshmallows for s'mores, which is a nice touch for families.
The parking lot is outdoors and gated, which provides peace of mind. From our room, the lot appeared quite large, and we had no trouble finding a spot during our stay. The parking fee is $35 per night, or $42 for valet.

The greatest strength of the Hyatt Regency Orange County is its proximity to Disneyland. You can take the Disneyland shuttle from the lobby, which costs $7 per person for ages 4 and up. Shuttle information is available in real-time via lobby monitors, making it much more efficient than driving yourself.
There is a Starbucks in the lobby, which is convenient for mobile order pickups. While there is no club lounge, the room upgrade and breakfast benefits for Globalist members, combined with the hotel's utility as a base camp for Disneyland, make it a compelling choice. A resort fee of $20 per night applies.
